Fresh faced preschoolers

A couple of weeks ago I was asked if would be interested in photographing the children at my daughter's preschool. Of course I said yes! It's a small preschool with 37 students, so definately do-able. I did mini sessions for a week and got to meet a lot of great kids, their siblings and a hand full of parents too. It was a blast!

Here are a few of the fresh faces I had the pleasure of photographing.

My thanks goes out to the lovely Miss Sandi who owns and runs Amity Community Preschool and Kindergarten. She is a great lady and I am so greatful I found her school at a stones throw from where I live.

Fall is in the air...

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the wonderful A. family. Not only are they repeat customers of mine, but also good friends. Their babies are close in age to mine and many playdates have been spent watching our children play together while we discussed parenting, adoption, books, movies and life in general.

Yesterday evening we met up at Barber Park and spent an hour together walking, admiring the fall scenery and stopping to take pictures.

I know you are excited to see how they turned out so here's a sneak peek for you guys. You were awesome and I am going to you miss you very, very much when we leave.

Introducing beautiful baby D.

Yesterday I photographed the delectable Baby D. At barely a few days old, she was just full of beans and it took quite some doing to get her to finally fall asleep so we could get those treasured sleeping baby shots.

And getting her to curl up into the fetal position was not easy, because this little girl likes to spread out!

But with infinite patience and lots of rocking, mom and dad managed to get to her to fall asleep.

Their beautiful 4 year old and proud big sister.

So chubby-licious in her daddy's arms. A daddy's girl already!

Thanks guys, you were great! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Beach Beauties

My girls and I spent an amazing week on the lovely island of Kauai. Our friend Mary generously offered to share her timeshare on the island with us. Work responsibilities kept my hubby from joining us but we managed to have an amazing time anyway.

It was the first time the girls had seen the sea or laid eyes on a beach. Needelss to say, it was an instant hit! We played in the water, enjoyed each other's company and generally had a relaxing time of it.

Sadly it is back to reality again for these beach beauties....

Beautiful Belly Shoot

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely family who are expecting a daughter in June. We did the session in their own home which was absolutely gorgeous. The love and bond that they shared was so obvious that is was easy to capture the intimacy of this amazing family.

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. I can't wait to meet baby "D" next month and do your newborn session!

Jess 'n Jer

On wednesday Jess, Jer and I went downtown to do a couples shoot. This is the first time I wasn't shooting families, maternity or newborn, so a pleasant change for me too. It also gave me the chance to go for an edgier more urban look.

The added bonus was getting to spend some time with this awesome couple who are very special to me for many reasons, one of them being that they are my youngest daughter's birth parents.

So here's to you Jess 'n Jer, I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

love ya! ~ Simone

Urban Boise

I'm still getting to know my lovely new camera...my Nikon D300. Using that as an excuse I dragged my poor unsuspecting oldest daughter to downtown Boise. We visited "Freak Alley", and if you haven't had a chance to go and check it out yet, you really should! The art is amazing, so colorful, so eye-opening.

Ami was a trooper and let mom take some shots of her. But boy that wind is still whipping around those corners this time of year. So we didn't last very long.

I am ready for spring and warmer days. The sun may be shining but it is still pretty chilly out there. I'm sure in a month or two I'll be lamenting how hot it is, ha ha.
